We took our kids (6, 8, and 10) on their first big-city trip to San Francisco earlier this year. I ordered this book so they could learn about San Francisco and some of the things they'd be seeing for the first time. This book was exactly what I was looking for. It was full of brief and interesting facts and history about San Francisco and its popular landmarks/sites. A good amount of things we were seeing were in the book and it was fun that they could recognize different buildings/sites just from reading the book. It was the perfect balance of entertaining and informative.

This book is not only written but illustrated by the author. It's a very cute adventure and highlights SF, the well known attractions and even obscure ones. I learned so much and I've lived here my whole adult life! I primarily purchased it for my 8-year old who is LOVING each page. It's not only a beautiful book to read, it's interactive!! Give it a buy! A bought a couple to have one hand for friends and family as a take home.

As a former NYC resident, this book felt like a fun tour down memory lane and an introduction to places I somehow never got around to seeing (e.g., Chrysler Building). It also was delightful to read this book to my two very curious kids (4- and 6-years old). Gorgeous artwork, fact filled and pure fun—highly recommended for the littles or the curious.

This is a most delightful book that informs, entertains and delights “kids of all ages.” While it’s meant for preteens—like Rocky & Bullwinkle or Spongebob—the humor works for the young audience and adults alike. The artwork is a feast for the eyes…the amazing detail is layer upon layer of information and intrigue. My kids loved this book and adored the “stars” of the book…Shrimp and Lobster. We’ll get the New York version very soon. Can’t wait for more cities!
