Iceberg the size of manhattan calves
That's right! A massive chunk of ice broke off of the  Brunt Ice Shelf in the Antarctic on Friday February 28, 2021. This calving was not a surprise, scientists have been waiting and preparing for this moment.
Turns out calving is quite common, every year there are about 10,000-15,000 icebergs born to the seas, but usually they are much smaller!  Learn more about the scientists who studied on the Brunt Ice Shelf and witnessed this extraordinary event  HERE!
